May 2011: Well, our new CD is recorded and the mix will be completed next week: it's called "The Cannie Hour", which means "the quiet hour", and is a collection of 13 songs all written by myself and arranged by Christophe. Inspiration for the songs came from all sorts of different sources: books, an ancient fairy tale, an emmigrant's letter home to his parents, a distant Scottish island called St. Kilda, my grandparents, a school friend's fear of ghosts... We invited some fantastic guest musicians for the first time which is very exciting for us, a string quartet of internatonally renowned musicians (named the "whisky and pistols string quartet" for the occasion!) and a brilliant accordionist, and we're really pleased with the result (apart from anything else we had a brilliant time in the studio!!). The recordings went really well - it sounds even better that we had imagined - and we're looking forward to sharing it all with you! The CD will be officially launched in September, but we'll have a few copies with us at our gigs during the summer... We'll post some sound samples very soon to put you in the mood, so keep an eye open! Joanne Also visit us on Myspace
